Information You Submit
A name, location, or other query entered in a search box is transmitted to the independent provider that operates that tool. Ward County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy governs its receipt and use of the query.
If a visitor sends an email or contact-form message, we retain the information needed to read and answer it. Message data is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Ordinary page requests may produce technical and usage records. These can include:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, though blocking them may change how some functions behave.
How Data Is Used
Collected data supports limited operational purposes:
- Operating the site and maintaining reasonable performance
- Passing a chosen search request to the correct partner service
- Learning which pages visitors find useful
- Finding faults and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Other Websites and Advertising
Links lead to Ward County offices, sheriff and corrections sources, government record portals, and outside search providers. Once a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy policy and practices apply. Ward County Released Inmates does not control those systems.
Some advertising partners may use their own technology to follow activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs through the partner's systems, not through a public record hosted here.
When Data May Be Shared
We do not sell personal data. Information may nevertheless be available to:
- Search partners that process a visitor's submitted query
- Analytics vendors that measure site activity
- Advertising networks that deliver or evaluate ads
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Security Practices
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to data under our control. No internet service, transmission method, or storage system is fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that an unauthorized event or security breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Contact Us page to request its deletion.
Your Data Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the request, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data we hold
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask that eligible personal data be erased
- Opt out of certain processing where that right applies
These choices govern data held by Ward County Released Inmates. Requests concerning a government record must go to its public custodian, and requests about partner-held data must go to that partner.
Policy Revisions
This privacy policy may be revised as site practices or legal duties change. An updated version takes effect when posted here with its new effective date.
